On April 1, 2026, as part of the 2026 edition of ChangeNOW, a discussion on the theme “Leading with Courage” brought together Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Jean-Christophe Bas, and Jean-Marc Lieberherr.
Drawing on their respective family histories—marked by their grandfathers’ commitment to fighting fascism and Nazi Germany—the speakers discussed the conditions that made it possible to build the peace we enjoy today as Europeans.
The discussions also focused on the challenges threatening this peace and on our collective responsibility to defend the freedoms we have won and to preserve this legacy. The presentation on Jean Monnet highlighted, in particular, how, after the two world wars, he and others chose not to simply endure the course of history but to help shape a new one, with determination and courage.
