From October 24 to 28, 2022, the Jean Monnet Institute and the HETIC digital technology school brought together 80 students aged 17 to 22 to work on the theme of “talking to young people about Europe”. Organized into 8 teams of 10, coached by members of the Institut Jean Monnet, Toute l’Europe, Digital Village, Razorfish (digital agency of the Pubicis group), and Meta (Facebook, WhatsApp…), the students worked on five European themes: the environment, values, digital, solidarity and mobility. Their mission: to propose innovative digital concepts and content capable of engaging young Europeans with these themes, informing them and strengthening their interest in Europe.

The first three teams were received on November 9 at the Quai d’Orsay by Laurence Boone, Secretary of State for Europe, to receive their prizes and present their projects.

What all the projects have in common is that they create a shared experience that brings young Europeans together, enabling them to experience European diversity while learning about the European Union in their chosen fields. Summary of the first three teams’ projects:

A pictorial summary of the projects will be available in the coming weeks. The Hackathon partners – Institut Jean Monnet, HETIC, Toute l’Europe, Publicis, Meta and Digital Village – are working on the follow-up to this exciting operation, which opens up exciting prospects for engaging young people with Europe in a different way. Well done to all participants!
